LCC Golf Hosts Antelope Invitational at Spreading Antlers

The Lamar Community College Golf team hosted their annual fall tournament on Thursday and Friday, September 17-18, at the Spreading Antlers Golf Course. 

Jeremy Minnick led the Lopes in the tournament, finishing in 5th place with a two-day score of 154.  Josh Lovett followed with a 7th place finish and a score of 156.  Austin Matheny placed 11th with a 165, Colton Wineberg placed 14th with a 193, and Matt Palmer finished in 15th with a 194.

LCC Individual Results: 5th place - Jeremy Minnick, 73-81-154; 7th place - Josh Lovett, 76-80-156; 11th place - Austin Matheny, 83-82-165; 14th place - Colton Wineberg, 95-98-193; 15th place - Matt Palmer, 95-99-194

Eastern Wyoming won the tournament with a team score of 612, followed closely by McCook in second with 615.  Central Wyoming finished in third with 622, Otero in fourth with 629, and Lamar in fifth with 668.

"We have a lot of areas in the game that need to improve," said LCC Head Golf Coach Roy Dewbre.  "Josh and Jeremy have shown signs of improvement, but we really need to make some strides at our third, fourth, and fifth positions."

The Runnin' Lopes Golf team travels to Otero Junior College this week, September 24-25.
