Bio

Ryan McGee joins the Runnin’ Lopes coaching staff with extensive experience as both a player and a coach at the collegiate, semi-professional, and professional levels. A native of Minneapolis, McGee began his career at two Top 10 nationally ranked NJCAA programs—Dakota County Technical College and Santa Barbara City College—before transferring to the University of Antelope Valley and later Marymount California University, where his team reached the NAIA Final Four.

As a player, McGee competed semi-professionally in USL League Two, signing with Chivas U-23 and facing top teams from around the world in international exhibitions. He later advanced to professional contracts in Australia's National Premier League and most recently played in the New Zealand Premier League with Bay Olympic. While abroad, McGee also coached within the youth academies of his professional teams, gaining valuable development and leadership experience.

McGee comes to Lamar Community College from Minneapolis, where he served as Assistant Coach at North Central University and Head Coach of semi-professional side Vlora FC in the UPSL, recruiting top collegiate talent from across the country. His background also includes significant recruiting work, coordinating the placement of elite players from international academies into major U.S. programs and helping American players secure opportunities abroad.

Coach McGee is passionate about helping student-athletes who may have been overlooked or are non-NCAA qualifiers, providing them with a platform to grow, compete, and transfer to four-year universities. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, surfing, snowboarding, and studying ancient history.
