Bio

Kevin Hurtado enters his first season as the Head Women’s Soccer Coach of the new Runnin’ Lopes women’s soccer program. Hurtado has over 8 years of coaching experience including college soccer at the NCAA and NJCAA levels as well as high school soccer.

 Hurtado comes to Lamar Community College from Otero College where he was the Head Women’s Soccer Coach for 3 seasons. During his 3 seasons at Otero, the Rattlers made the Regional Quarterfinal finals every year while defeating multiple nationally ranked programs. Hurtado had over 8 students earn Region 9 All-conference recognition, including 12 NJCAA Academic All-Americans. During his time in charge, Otero was one of the few programs in Region 9 with multiple students playing in the WPSL and professionally overseas.

Prior to Colorado, Hurtado spent one season as the assistant women’s soccer coach at Indian Hills Community College in the ICCAC Conference, where the team reached the Region 11 Championship game. Prior to Indian Hills, Hurtado was both the assistant coach at Centenary College of Louisiana and the Head Varsity Girls Soccer Coach at Benton High School. During his time at Benton, the Lady Tigers’ program reached their highest state ranking history of #4 in state while also producing their first ever athlete to sign a scholarship to play soccer in college. At Centenary (NCAA Div 3), Hurtado was a part of the 3 year turnaround of a 1-win program into a quarterfinal berth in the SCAC Conference tournament.

 Kevin Hurtado is a graduate of Centenary College of Louisiana in Shreveport, LA, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He was a member of their Division 1 and Division 3 men’s soccer program from 2010-2014. Hurtado is currently in the process of completing his Professional Diploma in Strength and Conditioning for Soccer from FC Barcelona Universitas in Spain. Hurtado is from El Paso, Texas, where he graduated from Horizon High School.
