Lopes Golf ends season with third-place finish

The Runnin' Lopes Golf team wrapped up a tough spring season this past weekend in Riverton, Wyoming.  Poor weather plagued the entire spring tournament schedule and the tournament hosted by Central Wyoming College was no different. 

Due to 40 degree weather including rain and snow, the tournament in Riverton was called after play on Thursday.  Conditions were difficult for all players, but the LCC team was able to finish tied for third place. 

Facundo Boero led the Lopes team with a seventh place finish.  His one-day score of 81 was only six strokes behind the first place finisher.

Jeremy Minnick and Austin Matheny came in only four strokes behind Boero with a score of 85.  They tied for twelfth place.  Josh Lovett finished in nineteenth place with a score of 87.

The Lopes finished tied for third place with host team Central Wyoming.  The team had a combined score of 338 (+50). 

Eastern Wyoming College took the top spot with a score of 314 (+26).  McCook Community College came in second with 329 (+41) and Northeastern Junior College finished in fourth with 354 (+66).
