Coach Fenerci adds three to 2017-18 roster

LCC head coach Sercan Fenerci did not waste any time to get on the road and look for new Runnin' Lopes right after the season was over. Coach Fenerci announced the additions of three student-athletes to the men's basketball program on Friday, May 12 -- Aaris Bonds, Jubrile Belo, and Quashaun Breland.

Aaris Bonds is a 6'5" guard from Montbello High School in Commerce City, Colorado. Bonds had a remarkable senior season leading the Montbello Warriors to an 18-8 record. Bonds led the Warriors in every statistical category by averagin 15.1 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.5 blocks, and 1.9 steals per game. "Aaris is an outstanding athlete where he can play in multiple positions. I have known Aaris and watched him grow up since he was in 10th grade. He was always on our radar and we are happy to add him to our roster," Fenerci said.
The second addition to the men's basketball roster is from across the ocean, 6'9" forward Jubrile Belo of England. Belo played for the very prestigious Barking Abbey Academy. He averaged 14 points, nine rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game as he finished in the top four in rebounds and blocks in the Elite Academy Basketball League in England. "Jubrile is an athletic forward who finishes around the rim, great shot blocker, and runs the floor very well. He is the type of player who plays with a lot of energy and is a true team player. We are thrilled to have him in our roster," Fenerci added.

The third student-athlete to be added to 2017-18 class is Quashaun Breland, a 6'9" forward from Tyler, Texas. He was selected 1st Team All-District at Trinity Christian School where he averaged 13 points and 11 rebounds per game. Breland brings in a wealth of experience at the forward/center spot. He spent his freshman year at Hardin Simmons University in Abilene, Texas. "Quashaun will bring experience and size inside with his 6'9", 235-pound frame. He is the definition of a team player. He rebounds and plays defense very well. He is a great screener and plays with energy. We are excited to have him join us this year," Fenerci said.

"We are still working to add a few more quality student-athletes to our roster this year. We are hoping to build on the success we had this year and work to get to the top of Region IX," Coach Fenerci mentioned.
