About Runnin' Lopes Baseball

Winning has become the tradition at Lamar Community College. With numerous conference championships and district playoffs under its belt in recent years, LCC Baseball has become a top program in the country.

Under Coach Crampton, the Runnin’ Lopes have averaged over 40 wins a year and over a .800% winning percentage in conference play over the past 20+ years. Additionally the Lopes had three seasons of over 50 wins in 2002 (59), 04 (50), and 05 (51). In 2002 the LCC baseball team finished third in the JUCO World Series.

With a new coaching staff, there is a more techonologically driven approach to junior college baseball development and all in hopes to continue their Region 9 conference play dominance. Lamar Community College remains to be in the conversation of providing the oppoortunity for players to develop their individual skills, while also continuing the winning tradition that has been established. Here are some ways Lamar CC seperates themselves and utilizes techonology within the program:

TRAQ

Is a Driveline based software that gives the Coach and/or Player the ownership in the developmental process. This software is used to help the Lopes organize, track and program their players to ensure they're on track to aquire their individualized goals. A great tool that is used during the off-season (Winter break) to help keep their players focused and a continuation in preparing for their spring season.

 RAPSODO

Is a camera-radar based technology which provides data and analytics that aids in our player development. A way we use this tool is to measure exit velocity, launch angle training, strike zone analysis, pitch tunneling, etc. A great tool, for pitchers and hitters, that uses 3D ball flight feedback in order for our players to make quicker and more efficient adjustments during their training.

PUSH PERFORMANCE

We work with Push Performance, based out of Parker, Colorado to bring the best approach in the strength and conditioning world for our athletes. DJ Edwards, owner of Push (left), is at the forefront of educating, serving and developing within the lifting/training aspects for athletes. Joe Rosenstein (right) is who we work very close with. Joe does a phenomenal job in educating, programming and developing our guys in the weight-room. There are phases he follows to help our team grow, but before the fall gets started, he comes down and performs a table & dynamic movement assessment on each individual athlete. After the assessment is completed, he is able to analyze and safely program each player for their specific needs in development. We started the partnership with Push in 2019 and will continue to provide this avenue of development for our athletes at Lamar.
